“Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel” (1 Cor. 4:15). “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19). Today’s social networking helps people to connect and gives the possibility to have more friends than ever. But virtual relationships alone can’t meet the Church’s desperate need for spiritually mature women and men to lead younger believers to be faithful disciples of Christ. If you are like many believers, you may not feel prepared to be a trusted leader because you haven’t had a spiritual mother or father yourself. The cry for spiritual mothers and fathers is one the main challenges for the Church in the coming years. Therefore we need to discover why spiritual mother- and fatherhood is every believer’s calling, and find out how to nurture a spiritual family that expands the kingdom of God. In this training, we will work on following themes: Do we really need spiritual parents today?; The different stages of spiritual growth; How can we grow spiritually? Growing in the Father’s love; How does the work of spiritual parents looks like in the daily life?; Daring to take responsibility and making good decisions; Dealing with the orphan spirit; Different kind of fathers and mothers.
